* On November 6, 1999 the Lighthouse Learning Center will have been in existence for 21 years. It started at the Island View Baptist Church in Orange Park, FL with nine challenged children. During 1999 the Lighthouse estimates it will see 215 children.
* The Lighthouse Learning Center's challenged children receiving the early intervention program are more likely to be successful contributing adults than children who do not receive the services. Statistically, every $1 spent on early intervention services saves an estimated $4.54 in future special education costs alone.
* The Lighthouse Learning Center has a Registered Nurse on staff to handle the 37 complex maladies of special needs children currently enrolled.
* The Lighthouse Learning Center has a Family Coordinator on its staff to work closely with the families of the challenged children enrolled.
* The Lighthouse Learning Center has a Community Coordinator on its staff to work closely with pre-school programs and families to ensure quality pre-school services.
* For every six families that move to our County, one family will have a special needs child.
* Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapies are provided at the Lighthouse Learning Center.
